AGENCY SERVICES:

CSCL represents many reputed tramp operating companies and specialized carriers in Sri Lankan ports. In addition to acting as ship agent, CSCL provides protective agency services as charterers' and receivers' agent in Colombo port.CSCL act as owners protective and charterers agents in Colombo port and attending to following functions as and required:

Port operations

Cargo Handling

Crew Handling

Supplying Bunkers

Arranging surveys

Arranging ship repairs

TECHNICAL FUNCTONS:

The Technical Department in Ceylon Shipping Corporation Ltd is mainly responsible to Technical management of owned vessels. There are two cargo vessels in CSCL fleet (i.e. Mv. Lanka Mahapola and Mv. Lanka Muditha) Both the vessels have the capacity of carrying 410 TEUS and 101 TEUS respectively. The main functions of the Technical Department are as follows.

Technical management of the owned vessels

Crewing.

Ship supplies

Maintaining the ISM regulations and Audits as stipulated by IMO.

Arranging Docking surveys and repairs.

Procurement of all items required by CSCL.

Repair and maintenance of CSCL vehicle fleet

Building maintenance.

SHIP OWNER:

CSCL was established as a ship owning and operating entity in 1972 as a state Corporation. CSCL has a vision to increase her present fleet of ships to meet country's sea transportation requirements of general cargo as well as petroleum crude oil. 

CSCL manages her own ships maintaining the 'class' (NK of Japan) and with necessary insurance covers according to international and local regulations and standards. They are manned with highly competent Sri Lankan officers and ratings, who have the training and certification according to the international conventions and regulations. 

NVOCC AND LOGISTICS SERVICES :

CSCL offers worldwide NVOCC services whilst providing other supplementary services to those customers who needs such solutions namely; packing and unpacking, stuffing and stripping services, door delivery and pick-up services, arranging certificates for fumigation, health, quarantine, cargo measurement and country of origin, container survey, insurance, Customs and Port clearance etc. Cost effectiveness and dependability are the competitive edge of CSCL's NVOCC and logistics services.

MARITIME EDUCATION:

CSCL provides sea-training on board her own vessels for deck and engineering cadets who are students of one of the leading and prestigious University of Sri Lanka for engineering and technical studies namely Moratuwa University . CSCL has been the Alma Mater of many seafarers and shipping professionals of Sri Lanka for decades. CSCL has a vision to develop a full pledged maritime training school with a dedicated training ship for the purpose.
